whether the condenser is at the front stop and the Ph/H/Ph slider has engaged. Exact

imaging of the annular diaphragm requires a planeĆparallel object.

• The center position of the Ph/H/Ph slider

permits brightfield illumination, the brightĆ

ness of which is matched to that of the phaseĆ

contrast image via an attenuation filter (gray

filter) (2Ć17ā/ā2).

• When using different Ph objectives with Ph0,

Ph1 and Ph2, pay attention to the correct

allocation of the annular diaphragms (see

table).
